Sirens (2025)

Sirens is a great dark comedy series that came out in May 2025. The show has a really strong cast with Meghann Fahy as Devon DeWitt, Milly Alcock as Simone DeWitt, Julianne Moore as Michaela Kell, and Kevin Bacon as Peter Kell. The story starts with Simone, who has left her family behind to work as a personal assistant for a rich, powerful woman named Michaela Kell. Michaela is married to Peter Kell, who's also a wealthy businessman. Meanwhile, Simone's older sister Devon is back at their home in Buffalo, taking care of their sick father. She's been wanting Simone to come back and help her during this tough time.
After finding out about Simone's new job, Devon decides to visit the private island where Michaela and her family live. She tries to explain the situation and get Simone to come home, but Simone straight up refuses. She wants her freedom and this new world she's living in. Devon can see that Simone has changed completely and seems totally trapped under Michaela's control. Simone really looks up to Michaela, who's given her a fantastic new life and a sense of belonging she'd always wanted.
But Devon is suspicious of Michaela. She senses there are dark secrets and sees her manipulative and controlling nature. She even starts to think that Michaela might be the one who murdered Peter's first wife, Jocelyn. Things come to a head when a photo leaks of Simone and Peter kissing. This breaks the trust Michaela had in Simone, and she fires her. But then there's a big twist. Peter actually stands up for Simone and reveals that he's not happy in his marriage to Michaela. He even plans to leave her because their marriage just isn't working.
At this point, Devon decides to just leave the island and go back home to take care of their father. She realises Simone is a completely different person now and won't be coming back. On her way home, she runs into Michaela on the same ferry. Michaela actually gives her a check to help with her father and admits to her dark, controlling nature. She also reveals a huge secret: that Peter's ex-wife Jocelyn is actually still alive and living a solitary life.
In the end, Peter left his first wife for Michaela, and now he's leaving Michaela for Simone. Michaela ends up going through the same kind of trauma that she put Jocelyn through. It's a really great dark and suspenseful series, and all the big stuff comes together in the last episode. There are 5 episodes total, each about 45 minutes long. It's a perfect series for anyone who likes suspense, dark comedy, social satire, and psychological drama.
