Samantha Lewes, also known as Susan Jane Dillingham, was born on November 29, 1952, in San Diego, California, USA. She was best known as the former wife of popular Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and the mother of actor Colin Hanks. Tom and Samantha met while studying at California State University, Sacramento. Although Samantha did not have an extensive career in television or film, she appeared in the TV show Bosom Buddies (1981) in the episode titled "Cahoots", where she played a small role as a waitress. The show also featured her then-husband, Tom Hanks. Tom and Samantha got married in 1978, but they separated in 1987. The couple had two children: Colin Hanks, now a successful Hollywood actor, and Elizabeth Ann Hanks, who is an author, actress, and filmmaker. Samantha Lewes passed away at the age of 49 due to illness in Sacramento, California, in 2002.
